Karris Grace or Coleson Harris!

We have decided on names! Keris has been my favorite name for a girl since I was a senior in high school - I saw the name on a billboard one day. I just decided to change the spelling to Karris because it keeps a little of my maiden name in it and looks more girly to me than Keris. Luckily, Daniel has loved the name since the first time I mentioned it! We like Grace because it is a sweet, "angelic" name as my mom says haha. Coleson came about as one of few names Daniel and I could agree on for a boy! We tossed around Colton, Coleman and Coleson and decided on Coleson because it is unique and Coles will be a great shortened version of it. Again, we decided on Harris to keep a little bit of the Harrison in the future Knight! :) We are going to a gender ultrasound at Prenatal Peek in Murrells Inlet on February 23. As long as Baby K cooperates we will know whether we need pink or blue then!

Happy Almost End of 1st Trimester!

We had our appointment today - and all was great! What a relief, I feel like I can finally rest a little easier. Baby K's HR was 140 today and they measured 12 weeks 3 days, actually 2 days longer than expected! He/she is 5.86 centimeters. Growing so fast! Dr. S did an ultrasound to check the HB and printed some pics for us too. One is so cute, because they have their arm over their face. The hand is just the curved part, the thing that looks like a finger is really just part of baby's head - it's just the angle. :) And those are the feet at the bottom. So neat, I read in one of my many book's that the big thing going on in week 12 is the baby starts having reflexes!
Here is another one too - of just a normal ultrasound.

Next appt with the OB is Feb 28!

Prayers for the Norris family

Please keep a friend from my hometown, Hannah Norris and her husband TJ in your prayers! She was told by the doctor's around 20 weeks that she wasn't producing amniotic fluid (a total fluke, nothing genetic) and that their baby girl would not survive because she would not have any kidneys, etc and encouraged them to abort at that time. However, Hannah along with my whole hometown stood strong with prayer and decided not to abort. Unfortunately, Sadie Mae was born around 1 this morning and went to heaven as the youngest angel shortly after. Please keep Hannah & TJ in your prayers as they get through this time - although their strength and faith AMAZES me - and has every step I have followed their journey these past few months. I know their wounds will heal because the power of prayer can do just that.

9 weeks 1 day!

4D Image

Regular Image

Well, today was my regularly scheduled appointment - so we got to see baby again and we are of course not complaining! Dr. S even surprised us and captured a 4D image for us!!! Talk about amazing technology - and super lucky! Most people don't see these til WAY later on. The heartbeat was great right at 160 again and as you can see the little one has grown a lot more again! From 1.8cm to 2.37cm this week. So unbelievable how fast they change! He said everything was progressing well, so no complaints there. I have been feeling great - I feel so lucky. Aside from the very few times early on, I have only felt sick maybe once or twice in the past few weeks. From what I hear from other pregnant girls I know these days, I am SO lucky! I am tired a bit but even that seems to be going away a lot - still have the mood swings here and there but Daniel would probably say what's new. :) Haha. I probably won't be updating as much since I start back school this week - I will miss the break but must say I am happy this is my last semester! (Cross your fingers, I have made it this far so I hope to graduate May 5 on time!) I know it is going to be really rough with school and the little one, but all worth the while when I am a nurse and have this sweet little one this fall! Complete package I'd say :) Keep the 3 of us and my nursing studies in your prayers. Next Dr. appt is Jan 31 and I will have hit the 12 week mark (and a few days!)

Little Gummy Bear!

The little one has so graciously been nicknamed our little gummy bear this week, since that is about their size. :) My Dr. appt wasn't scheduled until next Monday, but let me tell you how much I LOVE Dr. Spielvogel.... he is awesome! I had a little scare Friday & Saturday with some spotting - sorry if that's TMI for some of you, but had to explain why we have a new pic and why I was worried! Anyways, after calling the nurse last Friday she reassured me that it was very normal in the first trimester for what I was experiencing - however of course being my worrisome self, I still e-mailed the Dr. on Saturday. He got in touch with me today and told me to come in this afternoon. Daniel couldn't leave work on such short notice, so Aunt Kristin came along for the ride and support. Thank goodness because I was a mess! Anyways, after going in, Dr. S immediately found the little "gummy bear" and the heartbeat! And the heartbeat was almost 160 he said - which is great! And, at the first appointment - baby measured .50 cm and now is a whopping 1.8cm! Talk about a growth spurt in 2 weeks! Almost has tripled in size! Needless to say, lil mama is VERY happy and relieved. The wait isn't quite over yet - although Dr. S said everything looked perfect - keep us 3 in your prayers for the next few weeks and months at that. :) I can't stop smiling looking at the gummy bear's sweet picture!!! Love GB soooo much!
