Facebook Official

Well - the beans are spilled - I kinda sorta am to blame. But people started asking questions and I couldn't deny it anymore! It will make life easier for sure, because believe me it is something you definitely want to tell the world! I am posting a pic of my Robert & Brittany's reaction to the news (I told them in a card for Christmas.) It was so awesome - Brittany even cried. As I mentioned before, Adam didn't get to be surprised because he figured it out while shopping with Debbie (my stepmom) one day.

Daniel was so excited!
Brittany, Robert, me & Adam
Baby Gamecock!

First Married Christmas!

We had such a wonderful first Christmas with all of our families. And couldn't have asked for a better gift for us! We went to Woodruff (my hometown) on Thursday and stayed until Christmas Day morning. Then we headed to Chapin to Daniel's parents then on to his grandparents for the afternoon. It was BUSY to say the least. But we are so happy we got to see everyone! We got to Woodruff in the early afternoon and shortly after arriving went to see my dad at the hospital. He has had some complications from a surgery he had but got to come home Christmas Eve and is doing much better! He is a trooper and I am so glad he made it out of the hospital for Christmas. I think Daniel's favorite gift was the baby Green Bay gear I got him... he is a huge Green Bay fan!
We spent Christmas Eve at my brother's house and my mom and stepdad came. Mom gave me the 2 cutest outfits for NEXT Christmas - one that is unisex with super cute reindeer and then one that is definitely for a girl. I will get to use one, maybe both this time next year! We had a blast playing the Chinese gift exchange game. Then when we got home we exchanged gifts with my dad and Debbie. Christmas Day was great, filled with some great gifts for not only us but Baby K too! Daniel's parents surprised the little one with his/her first USC tailgate chair (it is so small and cute, comes up to my knees!), USC sippy cup and a USC piggy bank. This little one is definitely going to be like their mom - gamecock crazy fan!!! I have been feeling so good the past few days it is almost scaring me! I was sick a lot last week but since we started traveling I have been totally fine. Not complaining as long as the baby is still doing ok!
The most fun thing we got to do was tell our siblings about the baby - I'll post some pics of Robert & Brittany's reactions - Adam is sneaky and figured it out before! We got to tell Amanda, Daniel's sister over the phone Christmas day and she was really surprised and happy too. Merry Christmas everyone & cheers to a happy new year!

Oh Happy Day!

I was so nervous - pretty sure Daniel was too today! But, everything went well. We even got to hear the heartbeat - which was so surreal! The Dr. let us know that this early on sometimes it can't be detected and not to be upset if it wasn't - but 20 seconds after he found "baby knight" - we heard his/her heart beating away! It was right at 100 beats which the Dr. said is exactly where it should be. By the end of week 6 it should be around 126. The old wives tale is that the higher the heart rate usually indicates a girl, but I just did some research and it hasn't been proven haha. I already can't wait to know if our sweet little one is a future Gamecock cheerleader or football player. :) 10 more weeks til that though! Keep us in your prayers that all keeps coming a long well! You can see the little one up in the right corner - such a little one! :)

Tomorrow is the first of many big days!

We go to the Dr. tomorrow! It feels like it is Christmas Day, but no that is Saturday! :) Funny it happens to be the same week. I think tomorrow will be Daniel & I's Christmas Day. Prayers for a good visit and healthy little one so far. I got to spend the evening enjoying time with Annie, Heather & Erin. It was much needed. I have been holed up all weekend not feeling good. Had to miss the annual Christmas party last night, but it was a good thing. I got lots of rest and watched the Wizard of Oz. Haha.... oh how my weekends have changed. Wouldn't change it for the world though! But anyways, the girl time was nice. It was fun brainstorming names. I love SO many names but Daniel is so picky it is frustrating! Oh well, maybe as time goes on he will give in! :) Will update tomorrow about the first visit and will have a definite "official" due date! Yay!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

I made an appointment with a new Dr. today - thanks to Annie's advice! We had a lunch date last Friday and I had to spread the joy. At this point we haven't told many people yet, and a lot of people are thinking I am really sketchy (cancelling happy hour, avoiding Christmas parties, weddings, etc.)! Hence, we had to miss Molly & Chandler's wedding this past weekend because I got sick for the first time around 6:30 Saturday morning... not fun. BUT, from what I hear, the nausea and fatigue and all the other fun things are a sign of a healthy pregnancy, so I am going to be happy about it! So anyways, my appt is with Dr. Spielvogel on Monday at 1:45 - I can't wait! I will be 6 1/2 weeks then. Atleast past the half way mark to completing this first trimester. With the new Dr. choice I'll deliver wayyyyy far away from now in August at Grand Strand now instead of Waccamaw. But, I'd rather be somewhere where the doctors seem to be awesome than a practice in Murrells Inlet that seems to busy to spend time with the pregnant women. Can't wait to finally be able to share the good news! :) Keep praying for the safe journey for us and the little one. :) I am already my shopaholic self and buying TONS of baby things... mostly unisex but one boy outfit and one girl - I figure whatever sex we don't have maybe Kelly and Parker will have so they will both get use! :)

December 10, 2010

We found out a week ago, December 2 that we are excpecting our first baby in August! We are absolutely thrilled and just praying for a safe journey as we begin this first trimester! Based on my nursing education from my OB & PEDS class this semester, our estimated date of delivery will  be August 12. :) However on a downside to the nursing class this fall, I am such a worry wart wondering what could possibly go wrong these next few weeks.... that's why so many of you don't even know our sweet little secret right now! Maybe he/she will come early and be a 1st anniversary baby! (Our wedding date was August 7!) Many details to follow. Our first Dr. appt is set for January 4th @ 11:00. I am actually thinking of switching to a different practice to get in earlier because I don't want to wait that long. So we will see! When I "release" this posting, I know everyone from Marcelle & Conor's shower will now understand why I was not partaking in any wine last weekend (and the first "glass" was apple juice I so slyly brought in my purse.) I'm a sneaky one... I know. Cheers!
